Mercury has a staff of eight. Everyone on the team touches the investment process in some form. There are no siloed departments, no hierarchy between client-facing and research functions, and no distinction between the work that "matters" and the work that supports it. The pace is deliberate. We do not manage against quarterly deadlines in the investment process, and we do not manage against them internally either. Work at Mercury is characterized by long, focused attention on difficult questions — not by urgency and reaction. We are based in Memphis. We do not have a remote option for most roles. The proximity of the team to each other is part of how the culture works.

We hold positions the market disagrees with. That requires a team that can sustain conviction through adversity — and recognize when the thesis is wrong.

Base salaries are competitive for Memphis. Meaningful performance compensation is tied to client outcomes — not assets gathered or business developed.

Investment professionals here do investment work. We do not have a culture that conflates client relationship activity with investment contribution.
